Eb games wii games list

With the immediate need for extra controllers, memory, and games at launch, is anyone going to pick up any of these other things?

And was the GC speculated by analysts as being the potential most popular console of all time? Ah, wow, that IS bad I hate to be too cynical about your attitude, and only time will tell, but you have to really put a lot of faith in those lists to think that it will cause the largest game console launch ever to be that big of a disaster.

But hey, Smash Bro, if I don't have a Wii on launch day and can't review games for the site, then I'll buy you lunch. BTW, why haven't you entered the Naruto contest? Quote Originally posted by: Svevan I hate to be too cynical about your attitude, and only time will tell, but you have to really put a lot of faith in those lists to think that it will cause the largest game console launch ever to be that big of a disaster.

I'm just gauging the reaction based on what I'm seeing and hearing. I'm not gonna say it'll explode, but I do think that all bets are off. If any console does have the potential to do what people are anticipating it to do, it's the Wii.

Quote But hey, Smash Bro, if I don't have a Wii on launch day and can't review games for the site, then I'll buy you lunch. I'd prefer you get a Wii, actually. Quote BTW, why haven't you entered the Naruto contest?

I thought it was a year before you could enter a contest again after winning one Also, I'm just not a Naruto fan, really. I take it that's a "no" to the "wait one year after winning a contest" question, right? Sure, I'll enter, but expect it to be something immensely bizarre. Sorry, I meant, worked for ME. I did walk into a store and saw a pile of s sitting around with noone around on launch day.

Had I wanted to I could have bought a on launch day with no prior reservation or camping out. Now I regret that I didn't do that and profit from eBaying it. I just don't think it's worth all this hassle to buy a console on launch day. I learned that the hard way with the DS. KDR you must live around an area that isn't too populated, everywhere here was sold out of s right after launch. One thing I wonder, how many Tickle Me Elmos were made?

I don't know, but I do know this is new territory for Nintendo and gamning alike, so I'm not going to say anything in regards to shortages or non-shortages except that I think it would be wise to be safe than sorry.

No, people just ran to the electronics store first while noone bothered to check at the general store until later that day. Suffice to say, if you don't plan to get one on launch day chances are you will be out of luck until the next shipment. Given the launch size, though, I don't think it will be too hard to pick one up on the 19th, depending on location as it will be much harder in the cities.

It was the same way with the Gamecube and the Xbox around here, so I would be surprised if the same didn't occur for the Wii. Still plan to do "line duty" that day, though, but not for more than a hour and half before the store opens. Well I hope you get one, I'm definately not going to take the chance of it being in stores and hey line sitting isn't that bad especially since I don't have any college courses that day.

It is kind of funny though because I will basically get 1 day of rest from the PS3 launch which I plan on sitting in line around 18 hrs before best buy opens and then back I go again for Wii. I'd like to throw my 2 cents into this. Keep in mind that Nintendo has always been a company that prefers units on shelves vs.

They know either way it will be bought and that person who would have bought it as a reserve will hunt one down no matter what.

That gives the systems a chance to circulate among the "general" populace as opposed to the "game geek" populace.

If Momma Doe can buy one for Jimmy, half the block may have no idea what Wii is, but now the word of mouth will get out. If Kiddo Dorkenheimer gets it on reserve, chances are the only folks that will see the system are his friends, who already knew all about it.

I think that Nintendo is keeping units specifically for reserves limited because of the way they do business. I also know that Nintendo allocated a certain amount of Wii reservations for all the stores. I know that they increase the units alloted to a store given their success at selling Nintendo products in general. I know that this time they used DS Lite sales as a figure for that.

Our store was given over 30 because of our high reservation rate on the Lite. Do I think any old random sucker is going to be able to stroll into any given store and pick up a Wii without trouble?

Do I think that if you didnt get a reservation you will be getting your Wii cut off? I'll tell you guys the same thing I tell the rest of my customers that come in after the reservations hoping to get a Wii; "Nintendo has been historically really good about getting systems onto shelves, more so than the other guys.

If you didnt get a reservation, dont lose heart and give up looking if you really want one. When the system releases if you keep on top of it, calling around diligently, you could very well grab a system. Especially keep you eyes on stores that dont normally do reserves like Target, Wallmart, Toys r Us, etc.

Of course, it wont hurt you to call us either! If any of you are curious, we had about 6 folks lines up pre-midnight. By we had over 50 people in line, so we let them know the situation and numbers, thinning the line down to Of course there were a few irrate people at the end of the line, but arent there always? I have also been told that we our store will be doing a midnight launch for the Wii. Keep in mind, this isnt a nation-wide thing instantly.

These things are decided given the amount of interest read: reservations a particular store seems to have. For instance, we will not be doing a midnight for the PS3.

We will be doing a midnight for World of Warcraft: Burning Crusade. We might do one for Gears of War, its still up in the air as of right now.

So if you want to know whether or not your store is going to do a midnight launch, you would have to ask them. The goal here is to piss off as few customers as possible.

Telling a bunch of folks "Yeah! Midnight release! I am not sure if any of the info I gave you guys is "off limits" type stuff. It doesnt seem like it to me, but given the anomnity of the internet, I think I should be safe. Just dont expect me to answer questions that might give away the location of the Bat Cave. The info you've given out should be just fine. And to all who have this issue with preorders I offer you the very logic I use for myself If you're going to get it, why not make sure that you do?

No need to roll the dice, when you don't have to. The rhyme was sheer accident Long story short, why make it difficult? If you know you're getting it, drop some cash and save yourself the hassle of hunting it later Namely for your games and accessories, systems are another story entirely but the same logic can apply. I'd like to add to that. I have heard that extra controllers may very well end up being in short supply. Of course, given that the same thing happened with the N64 and GCN when they released, this should be a non-issue for us Nintendo-philes.

So even if you arent going to reserve a system, you might wanna give some consideration to the idea of reserving an extra controller or three, depending on how many other people you are planning on playing with.

UniversalJuan: Thanks for that. I enjoy hunting for games and Accessories but I refuse to hunt for the essentials, aka the console itself. Quote Originally posted by: Ceric I enjoy hunting for games and Accessories but I refuse to hunt for the essentials, aka the console itself. Lol, I already have one controller reserved with the nunchuck along with my console, but when I camp out for for the Wii yes I am doing two camp outs, one for PS3 one for Wii I am going to snatch up two more along with a classic controller.

I would reserve another controller but I'm like you in that I like finding some of the accessories, especially when you pick them up off a nice big table and you feel like you really earned it! I've pre-ordered Wii on September I only get charged for it when they are dispatched. Also, slightly off topic For example ;"lets play Wii" as opposed to "lets play on the Wii".

Quote Originally posted by: Bloodworth They were taking controller reservations too along with SD cards, Wii points cards, etc. My mom was in line at EB for me this morning see my topic - and here in Canada pre-orders were today and she managed to reserve everything on my list except for the component cables somewhat expected and an extra Nunchuk. Not enough Nunchuks to go around? If they can make a rumoured 9 million or even more! Wiis before the end of the year, you'd think they could have more Nunchuks available.

Unless it's not a manufacturing issue but something else entirely. Traditionally, controllers have always been the rare items in console launches. The N64 suffered a horrible shortage of controllers.

Hopefully controllers aren't nearly as hard to find this time since I think that could hurt Wii's perception, since, well it is being advertised as system we play together. What drives it over the edge is the 20 dollar attachment. I mean, couldn't they have bundled the two together and charge either 40 or 50 bucks for it? I mean, there are games that pretty much require the nunchuck, so might as well include alongside the Wiimote.

Quote Originally posted by: pap64 40 dollars for the Wiimote itself is pretty good, considering all the crap it has inside. I do find it funny though that the nunchuck has basically the same technology as the sixaxis. Heh, you guys take a console from two generations ago into account when deciding the controllers WON'T be available, but you don't listen to one generation ago when controllers were in great supply and it wasn't hard to get a system at launch.

All of you with preorders have to stop trying to convince the rest of the world that they won't get stuff. I did borrow a Turbo Graphx 16 for a week though. EBGames - Score: 2 , Informative. My alarm failed to go off this morning in the usual fashion; it went off at 7 am, I hit the switch and rolled over. Next thing I know it's Figuring I was either destined to be successful or not I went through the motions of getting out the door and to the store.

I had 3 stores in mind, I had planned on cruising by and seeing what the lines were like at each store. When I got to the first one there was no line at with the store opening at so I stopped. Parking right outside the strip m. It must vary from store to store, as my experience was the exact opposite. I was two people behind the cut off point. The manager took my name and phone number, and called around to the various other places in the area. Two hours later he called and told me he had gotten me a preorder 25 miles away, and that I could stop by tomorrow to pay and pick up the reciept.

Well, if they actually come through on ship day. Been there, done that Score: 2. After my class dismissed this morning, I promptly headed home, hopped in my car, and took off to one of the nearby Gamestops.

I got in line, only to be told that I was number 13 of 12 number of people in line, number of units to pre-order. The sadness! But a mall across the street had not only another Gamestop, but an EBGames as well, so I had twice as many chances to stand in line outside of the store without being in the bitter cold. I was able to get in line at the Gamestop number five in the line ,. Wiifanboy is saying that Canadians won't be able to pre-order til Monday [nintendowiifanboy.

I'm gonna head over to EB at lunch just to check it out anyways. I would rather line up on the 18th though. It'd be much more fun. That would be some fun wifi gaming :. Rather wait Score: 3 , Insightful. You should have seen how fast Bundle went last christmas. Of course, it still available today. So screw you Gamestop, I'll stick with my local wholesaler. I Just Placed Mine Score: 2.

I just placed mine this morning, Central, after arriving at almost exactly 7 AM. The people earliest in line had been there since 5 AM. Only the first eight people in line were able to place preorders, but with a target of six million systems out before Christmas, I'm predicting this isn't the last wave of purchases we'll be seeing.

Still, the line had more than doubled before opening, despite reports from the employees that only eight preorders were available and people having left the line. Yer all puppets of marketing hype Score: 2. The lase game console I bought was a Super Pong. Last year. It completely freaks people out when I connect it to my tuner card and play it on my computer!

Another EB sob story Score: 2. You can toss my story on that stack too. The EB games at Northgate Mall in Seattle told customers that if they preordered a Wii game for which preorders were available weeks ago that you would be called the day before the console was able to be preordered. If you confirmed that you wanted one and could come in and pay before end of day Friday as if anyone wouldn'.

I had a similar experience. I preordered Zelda TP, and was told I would be called when preorders were available. I never even received a phone call.

Granted I knew the preorder was today but I have a job. Kinda makes the whole point of preordering the game pointless Ya pays yer nickel, ya takes yer chances Score: 5 , Informative. From the EBGames site What are you getting? It sure isn't a guarentee that you will get a Wii on day 1. Just a guarentee that they will probably sell it to you before they sell it to someone who didn't pre-order EB can get stuffed, how about they provide me with service rather than taking my money for nothing?

Re: Score: 2 , Interesting. Yes, I got my email yesterday. I went 1. I was 4th in line at my store. Had to wait in about 25F weather. However, our store had about a 16 limit on orders. We started about 15mins to am and they where all gone by am. I am glad I have mine. Though, I'm surprised orders are so low, given Nintendos statements of a large number of orders available. I would guess Wal-Mart or BestBuy might be getting large quantities.

Cheers, Fozzy. Wii supplies Score: 2. This is strange. I ordered my Wii at Gamestation in Birmingham at on 29th September. They'd been taking preorders for quite a while by then. I very much doubt there'll be any shortage - I was told that Nintendo had been ringing the store to ask how many they wanted - but I wanted to be certain I could get the thing on the release day.

Possibly there's some problem with the earlier launch in the US? Or is this a marketing trick to make Wii seem scarcer than it is? Target had a pretty big area of shelf space when I was there a week ago. Just empty shelf that said Nintendo Wii at the top. I bet they are getting a large handful, since it was the first display I have seen for the Wii anywhere including Gamestop.

I'm guessing it wouldn't be. We have two EBs in this town. The mall one was filled up by or so. The one in "campus town" with the line in the wind filled up at And I was there at the second at This thing went FAST.

First store had 8 preorders 4 orders for employees , second store had That would be worth an overnight to many I figured you just meant they were Core systems. Tags: wii. Today's VIP kcsupido. Jul 27, by humanfart. What's your favourite juice? Jul 01, by mako. Jun 26, by captaincolon.
